Welcome to the Castle!
Somehow I got lucky enough to be blessed with FIVE beautiful daughters. If you peeked inside our little castle, you would see a lot of pink, a lot of lace, a lot of fingernail polish, make-up, and hair dryers. There are unicorns and butterflies, arts and crafts smothered in glitter, and did I mention pink. Lots and lots of PINK!!! Ironically, when I was growing up I really related and preferred to hang with the boys as my girlfriends were often moody, shallow, petty, jealous, or otherwise unpleasant to be with at times. But, as each new daughter was added to our family, my dreams of having a boy started to wane. I LOVE my girls. They are so much fun!! Pink is not as bad as I used to think it was. I'm in awe with the amazing things my girls do and I love their uniquely special personalities. They are so energetic, creative, dramatic, frilly, shrilly and everything else sugar and spice. Life is good.
So why am I starting this blog? I'd like to share interesting thoughts, experiences, and insights of what it means to be a girl - no, to be a princess. There are a lot of girls in the world. Most of them are like my childhood girlfriends. Not many are princess material. I expect my girls to become princesses. My hope is for each of them to find the courage and confidence to become strong and powerful individuals in their own spheres of influence, and make the world they live in better for all those who know them.
